The Uganda wildlife official around the wildlife sites of Mbale have met with the local communities to discuss on how they will sort their bad relations. They came up with their resolutions that were understood and among them was to settle their disputes given the fact that they all need the resources. The officials explained to the communities on how the park is supportive to the community and their for there is need for park -community relations.
Different communities have been complaining about the bad relationship they incur with the Uganda Wild life authority surrounding areas. A communitity resident called Loy Namanzerye of Buwabwala sub-county, Manafwa district, claims she was harassed by the Uganda Wildlife Authority officials while collecting firewood from a section of land that borders Mount Elgon National Park. This was during a meeting between the wildlife authorities and the residents. The wildlife authority claims residents have encroached on the park yet encroachment spoil the ecosystems of Uganda’s beautiful parks.
