Nyakagezi Gorilla Group
The only habituated Gorilla family in Mgahinga Gorilla national park. However, Mgahinga Gorilla National Park accommodates over 80 gorillas and most the gorillas are not habituated. The habituation in this park is somehow hectic as gorillas with the Virunga Conservation Areas keep on alternating from one park to another. Nyakagezi gorilla group is another Uganda’s oldest group which was habituated from 1991 until 1994. The family has 3 silverbacks who live harmoniously with each other and these include dominant silverback Mark and assisted by Mafia who both took over from their father Bugingo.
